Disney World’s New Mask Guidelines Will Devastate You

Share the love

Disney has changed its mask guideline but before we get into that lets rewind back to the pre-pandemic phase.

During the pre-pandemic phase Disney World obviously was without mask and operated as normal.

Most big businesses are always implementing strategies to grow revenue quarterly and yearly. In 2016, Disney made 40% if its revenue from media networks like Disney channel and other films and shows.

This was the first biggest revenue stream and second largest was parks and resorts. The third largest was studio entertainment.

Now, fast forward to 2020 during the pandemic Media networks remained its largest money streams then after that was direct to consumer products followed by parks and resorts.

Disney Covid Pandemic History

Disney closed due to the pandemic on March 16th 2020 then 116 days later reopened on July 11th 2020.

Disney had the basic guidelines n place for covid and making sure things were safe. These new rules were smaller crowds, shorter lines, social distancing and to wear masks.

In some places where I was when traveling they were aggressive with rules. Other places were not as forceful. With all that’s happened in the past year Disney world altered its mask guidelines again.

Before this decision was made the CEO had a call with an investor which covered any subjects ranging from increasing capacity, removing masks requirements and other guest demands. Disney used the internal metric “Intent to to Visit”.

The 2020 “intent to visit” demand was low but going into the summer of 2021 this is expected to be reasonably high.

The CEO, Chapek, says the demand is returning to pre-pandemic levels. It’s funny because I had a former co-worker say he plans to take his family to Disney World this summer.

I’m not against it. I hope him and his family has fun. Any time a activity is limited usually once the limitation has been removed the demand for the activity returns to normal or spikes above the typical normal levels.

Disney Reopens

When Disney is reopened to the maximum level at full capacity people are going to rush the Disney products, theme parks and resorts.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Disney makes record setting revenues as it bounces back from the impact that covid has had on their business.

As far as what specifically changed about the mask rules at Disney is that now masks are optional in common areas.

However, guest still must wear masks from entrances to all attractions, theaters, or transportation settings. To me hardly seems like a change.

Outdoor settings have more room so wearing a mask or not probably doesn’t impact the likelihood of getting covid.

Basically, if you’re walking down main street no mask is required but if your riding on a roller coaster you will have to wear a mask.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Disney is adopting new procedures but they don’t really seem to make a difference.

The key takeaways is that if Disney is doing this it is likely other businesses large and small will make similar changes.

Disney is simply aiming to make adjustments in business so it can move forward to make great profits while minimizing covid spread.

My recommendation for anyone wanting to travel is to always prepare and even over prepare for your trips in terms of safety.

I think later, by blog post or by my “All Things Wealth Podcast” I may make a content series covering the dream chasers and entrepreneurship throughout history that accomplish greatness and build huge fortunes like Walt Disney.

Nothing big is ever created over night.

My intent is to cover grounding-breaking business news and stories to help lead other dream chasers into taking action on their goals.

Start small if you have not begin yet.

Even if you don’t know what to business to start still go to your local registry of deeds or business office and file the paperwork for your future business. Next, start exploring business ideas.

Write a list of 20 things you can sell. Jeff Bezos, Richest man in the world, did this exercise so it must be worth something to try it.

Next you circle just one to focus on then find data to see if it is a demand for it and would customers buy it.

Make a business plan. Your business plan can be one page like the Air BnB founder did. It is important you make the business plan then start executing on it fast.

Lastly read and study the various effective forms of marketing and selling systems. This is just a snap shot to get you going and moving to start on projects, side hustles or business.
